Point of Interest - A Funshow Custom Knife & Show Report
I took a short (2hr drive, each way) road trip this morning, and attended the Concord, NH gun show.
I arrived just about the time the doors opened @ 9:30, and the line to get in ($8) was aleady halfway around the building - a large ice-skating rink. To say the show was crowded would be an understatement.
Nicely, all of the tables I saw ( and there was a LOT of tables) were guns & gun-related - no smoked sausages, jewelery, or junque.
EBR's dominated most of the tables, however - followed closely by all sorts of handguns, which as a non-resident, I didn't even bother to fondle.
Plenty of ammo/dealers, used loading gear, and some original CivilWar / percussion rifle tables - and several tables with new & used quality scopes (Leupold, Burris, & the like - NO Chinese junk).
I noticed 3 different NIB Winchester 9422's at three different tables - none of the sellers being those often high-price "Winchester" dealers with 20-30 Winchesters laid out.
One was a WinCam lamo, and the other two '70's, plain, uncheckered/standard .22LR's - no XTR's or Legacy's.
The 3 were tagged at: $899, $1295 & $1350 ( In no particular order - crs)
Besides a few tables vending inexpensive "tactical" folding knives & the like, there were at least three-four tables with custom sheath knives - at one of which I "bit"
A custom Scandinavian knife & sheath, made by one Sven-Erik Loodh - the sheath is leather & curly Birch, with a what looks like a Curly Maple wood inlay in the front accompanied by multiple scrim & small inlays in & around the front/rear edges, and a handle made of some dark European wood, capped front/rear with Reindeer antler.
The blade is SHARP ! !

Nice, it looks like one of those laminated steel blades.

Yes, it does.
And if it is one those things ROCK!

Thank you - and, yes, the blade is one of Scandinavian laminated steel, with an edge grind that ought to be a snap to sharpen, when needed.

Pete, I was bidding on a knife like this on Ebay - those boys left me in the dust with the price which went very high - the prices you report here do not surprise me.

Beautiful work. Looks like it ought to be a good all around knife.
