Here's a story about Tom Derrick of the Austrailian army, WWII.

I know many of you will enjoy reading about this brave man.

His was one of the featured articles at the Wikipedia site today.

What a GREAT bloke! The mother country owes Tom Derrick and his buddies a heck of a lot for their service..

One of the finest of that great generation of fighting men. Unfortunately, not as well remembered as suggested in the article.

Another largely forgotten Australian is Harry Murray, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Murray , yet everyone knows about Simpson (and his donkey) of Gallipoli fame http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Simpson_Kirkpatrick

It has been suggested that after the carnage Australians preferred to celebrate a man who saved lives rather than taking them.
