Pitchy Oughta Like It... Minnesota Clydesdale
Here's an interesting email I got from Dewight. Couldn't help but think of Pitchy, him being in Minnesota and all...

Pitchy needs to saddle one and ride it around the woods. That would garnish some respect from the hostiles!

I seem to recall seeing that photo or atricle some time back.
My impression now as then is that it's very interesting.
Somehow it just strikes me that a game warden would put the guys hide on a barn for trussing up a game animal like that, trained or not unless he has some kinda special permission from the king.
Still, it's a fine animal, and one has to admire the gent for the effort.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

I remember that story but can`t remember where it was.

I heard that someone up in Maine a long time ago (late 1800s?) tried
to domesticate moose for meat. He was mostly unsuccessful. Lotsa
good meat on a range-fed moose!
That's a cool pic.

You can read the rest of the story here:

Check out the picture links in the article though - even more interesting than the photoshop job.

Well, for one thing, that moose would sure get the right of way when on the trail...He wouldn't even need to make a sound, just the size of that rack would make even the most bold critter move aside!
Pitchy, the "hostiles" have been reading your posts and they're convinced you lost your mind years ago! Heard a rumor that they're gonna try shooting the oppsite direction and see it that improves their aim

Thats a cool picture. but as a Kid surrounded by farms one of them was given somekind of Red Deer. pretty big thing like a small caribou. it would be in the pasture all day or by the barn and all the city people would come on the weekends to get eggs or produce and get a picture with Rudy. had a tall rack. one day the Farmer was out back of the barn for some reason and ol Rudy was nearby, the deer lost it and charged Him with those antlers. He was lucky to live.He looked like He got hit by a truck. I hate to think what would happen with that Moose.

Shasta,
Outstanding picture. Like to personally see that moose and man doing work. Would guess horses give the moose plenty of room.

I surely wouldn't want to be on of his horses when the rut comes on.

You would want to spray paint him in the fall! I didn't mean Pitchy, the moose.
