Book Reveiw - American Sniper by Chris Kyle

Post by L_Kilkenny »

I bought this book last Friday. Started on Friday night, read some more on Saturday night and finished on Sunday. For those that don't know Kyle was a SEAL sniper with a record 150 "confirmed" kills. A feat he credits not to his ability but to the target rich environments he had been placed in. Great read and highly recommended. Gives a great deal of insight into the mind or a SEAL sniper, training and even home life. It doesn't read like so much like a story but more like 2 paragraph to a few pages about incidents and thoughts. Even a story about punching and dropping loud mouth Jesse Ventura (doesn't use the name in the book but has in interveiws). Even his wife has some parts of the book where she talks about home life and the strains on their relationship. Kyle does a great job of letting you know that this is a war, there have been some hellish fights and Americans have died. Doesn't pull any any punches about Iraq or the military branches and leadership either. Makes me want to give my BIL who is serving a big ol' hug and thank you.

LK

BTW, he's been running the TV interveiw circuits so you might be able to pull up some video up via Google.

A friend of mine got on CD a few weeks ago and recommended it. I got the book and read it. Very well done. Some parts I had to laugh about... his issue about swimming, etc. Makes ya wanna just shake his hand and say "thanks."

I heard him being interviewed here on our local AM morning talk show not long ago. He didn't want to talk about the punch out other than to say "it's in the book."
Thanks for reminding me.

Chris Kyle loves America, and unlike the world of liberal "Obamacrats", welfare recipients, and "PETA' minded wussies that surround us, he was willing to fight to protect those around him. God does not want anyone to kill, but to protect American military troops, Chris Kyle put himself through conditions that most would avoid. - - I applaud him as a warrior and a patriot. - - Well done Chris Kyle :!: Well done :!: :!:

Very well indeed! :D

This was my very first e-book. I downloaded it to the tablet I got for Christmas. It has been a good read thus far. Only problem I've had is that I just haven't had the time to read much outside of work stuff for the last 3 months!

Hah... Talking on the other thread about 'getting on lists' - if lots of people are downloading a book called "American Sniper", it probably has someone in bureaucrat-land working full-time making lists...
