Anyone tried White Label bullet lube?

Post by shooter »

The subject of lube came up in 6pt-sitka's thread on the new Ranch Dog molds and I didn't want to hijack that thread. I was wondering about White Label lube, and if anyone has tried it? I've seen it recommended over on Castboolits quite a bit, and it's an excellent price if it's even halfway decent. Just wondering if it's any good.

The liquid alox is supposed to be pretty much the same thing as the Lee stuff from what I've been told !

I don't use liquid alox if at all possible so at some point I wanna try the White Label stick stuff they say is good for 2700 FPS . I think there's is about $1.50 a stick and the cheapest dealer cost I can find for Thompson's Blue Angel or the RCBS Rifle stuff is like $3-4 a sticj dealer cost . So it would be atleast a 50% savings for me . I maybe use 12 sticks a year so it's only $18 a year but thats about 1000 Gator 44 cal gas checks and I use about 3-5 thou of those a year and maybe 1 thou of the 458 checks . So in todays F'd up economy it all adds up

I ordered a sample pack of their various lubes off Ebay. They are very good! I settled on their BAC (beeswax-alox-carnuba) as it is slightly stiffer than plain 50-50 (beeswax-alox) lube.

Their prices are quite reasonable too!

I know the difference between the deer, but didn't remember which you used for your name :D I knew I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right so I just picked one. I'll remember next time

I have used White Lable BAC with complete satisfaction in 38 special loads for years. Recently I have started using it for .357 rifle boolits, 30 cal rifle boolits and 44 mag rifle boolits, and it has worked well. I get very minimal to no leading with BAC. I did get leading with commercial hard cast boolits and their hard, whatever it is lube. The price is certainly right, and Mr. Larrsen is a pleasure to do business with.

They make several lubes, which one were you looking at? I have used their Carnauba Red on my Magnum handgun bullet loads and it works quite well...

I was looking at all of them, lol. Mainly I wanted to try the Carnauba Red for my fast shooting rifles and the BAC for my handguns. Or if the BAC works well in the mid to high 2000fps range then maybe just go with it for simplicity's sake.

I started with White Label 2500+ and it worked well in most of my guns.
Later I switched to Carnauba Red and it works well in all of my rifles and handguns.
There is no fouling or leading and cleanup is a pass with a dry patch.
I've also used Carnauba Red with black powder in a couple of cartridge guns and on some .58 Minie balls in my musketoon. The .58 went 40 rounds without cleaning or fouling or loosing accuracy.
I'm impressed.
