Never heard of them. Thanks, will give them a look.
Edit; Treebone said he can make me one with no problem. I was hoping to find a OEM Winchester if possible but after I look a while if I dont find one I will go ahead and let him make me one.
Let Me check Mine out tomorrow. I thought U were looking for a 10 inch and measured Mine at about 9 1/2 so didn't look real close. I will try to check it out tomorrow.

Well at first I thought I needed a 10" but after talking to a stock maker I think I was measuring wrong start to end. Think I need a 9.5" or so. The standard rifle forfend may work.
Well the forend should be in on Monday. Hopefully it will work.
Hope you guys dont mind all the questions cause I have another.
I am going to get a Lyman tang sight and want to use the Lyman 17 globe sight. Was reading some of the reviews and a couple talked about getting the proper height. Is there a way to measure the proper height for the front sight? There are a couple different heights on the MidwayUSA sight where I was looking.

He didnt have one at this time. I found another guy on another site who has one so Im going to try it. Crossing my fingers that its a good fit or easily made to fit.
I did the same thing as you. I was bidding on couple forends and was out and about and my phone didnt send me the outbid notice till the auction was over. I actually got the auction over email before the outbid email.

There are three different heights for the standard Lyman 17A front sight. I use Marble's tang sights and have had the best results using the shortest Lyman front sight, the 17AHB.

The 17AHB is the one that I wrote down on my parts list but I was not sure if there was a way to tell or not which one I would actually need.
I was thinking about Marbles tang also because of the windage adjustment. I dont see the Lyman as having that.

For those keeping up......I am making some progress.
The forend is a different color so eventually I will have to refinish the wood.
The forend cap is giving me all kinds of fits today. I cant get holes in that to line up with the holes in the tenon. They are from VTI for a Uberti so I am now on the look out for some original Winchester tenon screws, cap and tenon.

Rube,
Try turning the tenon around. sometimes the holes are not drilled and tapped directly in the center.
Thanks. I did try that but it didn't work. It fits real loose in the dovetail too. That's not a real prob if the screw holes would line up though. I grinded it down and got it closer but any more and it may just go all the way through.

That's the way mine is, it actually on catches on one portion of the dovetail... not tight at all, yet when the forend and cap are in place... doesn't move a bit. Strange. However, I really like the look of the older style forend cap over the commemorative version.

Is mine the older style? What is the difference?
I am looking at some on GB right now and I am thinking mine is the older style?
