Hang in there. Ice storms are worse than a snow storm in that they break so much ie trees, power line etc. You can plow through snow but driving on ice is VERY hard. We had a bad one here in 98 (minimum of 6" of ice and more in spots) It usually get fairly windy after an ice storm, mother natures way of cleaning off the trees. Be careful out there.

Yeah, we're getting a bit of snow, but work hasn't been called off. I'm probably going to have to fire up the tractor and plow through the driveway this weekend. Starting to drift up. Nothing but a couple of skiffs of snow and then, wham, we're hit with it all at once. It's snowing right now.

The great PNW storm has added up to a 1/4" of gentle rain here. That old Cascade Range sure keeps away a lot of crud from us'ns on the dry side. Wonder if that somehow explains the political differences between eastside/westside of Oregon and Washington? I can see the correlation but don't quite understand the explanation...

We ended up with 18" of snow and now our little river is flooding. The wife missed 3 days of school (teacher) and was really enjoying it! We are offgrid so we were unaware of everyone around us losing power!

Several years ago when we were having a series of hurricanes and days and days of no power something occurred to me. The only difference between us here in the U.S. and any dirt world nation you care to name is that thin copper line that stretches from pole to pole. Take away that power and we are equal.

We got off lucky this time up here in the Skagit valley. Only about 6" of snow. not much freezing rain.
