New to me 9422M
I've wanted a 9422 for some time, but couldn't justify the cost for a 22 lr. However, couple the desire for a 9422 AND a 22 magnum, and I saw the light!
This one came with a cracked stock. You can see the before and after pics below. The glue line is very hard to spot unless the light hits it at a certain angle. I am generally pleased with the results, but I'm still not sure I like the satin finish on this gun because it hides the movement of the grain in the walnut.

The last 9422M I bought had a cracked stock, I got a replacement from Numrich for $14.95, it was a factory reject but was in excellent condition.
You'll love the 9422M,great guns.

Re: New to me 9422M
I have the 9422, my Brother a year later bought the magnum. I used his magnum alot when he was getting his PhD in Mississipi, (not sure if legal there or something??) Regardless, love them both.

I have a Winchester 9422M as well. A very handy and useful rifle around the Farm and nice to carry on long walks. Mine prefers the Winchester JHP ammo.

I too had a 94/22. Mine was chambered for the LR. I rate it equal to the Marlin model 39 and both at the very top. May get one in 22 mag R.F.

Re: New to me 9422M
I've enjoyed all 4 of the 9422Ms that I've had shooting access to. They're great small game rifles and the performance they give is worth the price of the ammunition. I think people make a mistake in comparing them to a standard 22 rimfire, because that makes it hard to justify paying for the ammo. They will do far more than a standard 22 rimfire will.
One thing I will suggest is that you pay careful attention to the magazine tube when you hunt with it, because they have a tendency to rotate and fall out unless they're kept under spring tension by being fully loaded. Enjoy your new rifle!
