Merry old England - just as we imagined it. Can you just walk around England with a loaded gun?

Only where I have permission OS, any gun has to be unloaded within 50yds (I think) of the center of a highway.

England ain't so merry friend, it is over crowded and gone completly mad!

Best wishes Ole' friend.

Nice pic's and pretty country. I have been to several places there on military duty. Like most places anymore, just to many people and to many laws.

Yes sir, it's great to be out in the fresh air with a gun.
My son has just come down from Newcastle with his fiance and we took a walk around the wood with our shotguns, "just because we can" :D

Thank you Nath. Anytime you can take a rifle and walk the woods is a perfect day, I know you enjoyed it.

Are there many places like the one pictured, Nath? Over here the "big woods" are everywhere but I had always pictured England as being fairly populated for it's size without tracts like you just showed.

It seems Good Ol'GMC put in a bad gasket that failed in a couple hundred thousand 5.7 and 4.3 liter motors. Although mine went 214,000 miles before failing. We just finished it up, took about 4 1/2 hours.

While you were...

I was hip deep in pulling the engine and transmission out of my old Ford for an engine swap (old age and reincarnation).

I'd rather been with you, though!

That's the thing about England... it's so Bloody... GREEN!

Meh. And the yobs across the St. George's Channel call theirs the "Emerald Isle"...

This is my walkabout... though I'm just getting the feel for it, and they won't let me use anything but MuzzleStuffers, Bows or Shotties... (even though a slug thrower will ballisticly out-shoot my M92 every day of the week, and my 1895 Rem will match most .45 Colt Pistols... )

Even broken up, that's a fair bit of ground to cover - especially that kind of terrain - which tends to "feel" bigger than wide-open land. Explains how you can continually hunt like you do and only make a dent in the populuations.

Absolutely gorgeous! I especially envy your great population of rabbits... they are fun to
hunt, and mighty fine eatin'! If I had plentiful squirrels and rabbits, I could give up deer
hunting and not miss it a bit!

Any time England gets to be too oppressive for you, we'd love to have you live over here!

All the best, and thanks for sharing your fine scenery and adventures with us!

Have a great New Year yourself! Very pretty country, but it isn't Texas, so I will just stay put. We have out share of nuts, but it isn't crowded in my part of the world yet.

Nath, given the firearms attitude over there how do the natives take you walking around with a firearm slung over your shoulder? You get many contacts by the Bobby's or are the residents used to you by now and don't get shook up?
