.32-20 AMMO FOR MY "NEW" 1892

Post by Babalooie »

Is the ammo made by Remington and Winchester safe to shoot in my 120 year old gun, or should I go with the lower pressure versions like Black Hills and Ultramax?

My Remington factory loads are very mild and lead only bullets. At 100 grains and 1210 fps they must meet the mildest cartridge spec for this chambering. I do use them in a modern rifle. Kinda like a big bore 22 LR or Mag.

Yes, they are absolutely safe. The Winchester factory loads I chrono'd didn't even reach 1,200 fps. Original 1892's can digest significantly more powerful 32-20 ammo that modern factory loads.
