That '86 is in almost better shape than my Winoku '86, but they can have it for that price. Whew.

I doubt very much if a rifle that old would letter with a blued receiver. That vintage should be color cased.

$12,000.00 is way too much for a reconditioned gun. There is a difference between reconditioned and restored. This isn't restored by a long shot. The wood color is not original, the reblue is over slight pitting on the right side of the receiver and a second year gun would have a color/case receiver, not blue. I think the seller is pricing the rifle as a "celebrity's firearm" as it came from the Hank Williams, Jr. collection....

For that kind of asking price, does Hank Jr come to my house once a quarter for a personal concert?

That means nothing, I have 3 of his guns and that extra value won't buy you a box of Cheerios...

Just curious, but what's a reconditioned 1886 in this kind of shape actually worth?

Thanks,
Oly

No reserve, no bids. What do you expect fore a redone clunker with Miroku wood. He might get a few Gs from someone who wants a shooter, but don't bet on it. :|

I would guess that gun would bring $2500.00 to $3000.00 to the right person, I wouldn't want it for anything over $1200.00 to $1500.00. As far as Hank, it may help the value if there is a letter in his name. What he said about the president wasn't wrong, and that would make me more interested in it for that reason alone.

Yea Hank!

I would love to own one of Hank Jr.s guns - would have big value to me. :) But I don't shop at that level - too many other things demanding my money :(
