The damage has been done to the wallet and I have my first levergun. Need to get some more ammo for it, only shot 3 rounds in it and I'm so excited. Can't wait till warmer weather. Sites are way off but meh thats expected.
Very nice! Welcome to Lever Lovers Anonymous! We are a help group for people suffering from levergun addiction, as in we help you feed your addiction
Nice gun...let us know how she shoots.

only shot 3 rounds in it, since well it's cold here in IL. Shot at a soup can about 25 ft away missed all 3. Shoots about 4 inchs low. Will need to sit down with a box or two to get it sighted in. Also noticed if I slowly chamber a round it jams, but that could just be that it's brand new out of the box and hasn't been broken in so not to worried.
Don't want to send it away to have it tweaked at least till I got some good time behind it. For me the trigger feels good, feels just like my old BB gun(red rider) when I was a kid so feels real natural for me. Just need to get that lever action smoothed out a bit.
Need to give it a good cleaning too, I just kinda wiped it down and put some oil on the joints for the moment other then that I REALLY love it.
My dad is a huge ruger nut and I guess after he looked mine over he said he said it reminded of his 2 ruger lever actions he had. darn him for selling them lol.
Sounds like you got one of the BEST leverguns to start off your collection...
Marlin

.44 Mag

Of course the Ruger 96's ARE better , but I'm not sure why the Marlins remind hom of them - the actions of the Rugers are probably more reminiscent of the Savage 99 or other leverguns. Personally, I like . . . BOTH. . . !

You sure picked a fine one to start off your habit. Leverguns can not be operated slowly, work the lever quick and firmly, as in two motions, down then up. It sounds good too.
Joe beat me to it.

I thought I was a sinner because I'd never had a .30-30 until last year, but. . .
(it's hard to even utter these words... )
. . . you don't own even one firearm that shoots .44 Magnum...???
Joe, I'd thought better of you, but I know you'll redeem your errant ways, now that you've come clean with your peers. I'll forgive you, if you promise to get something that shoots .44 Magnum as soon as possible. Even a Handi-rifle, Davis Derringer, or if all else fails, a .44 Mag chamber-adapter for a .45-70 or 12 gauge breakopen.

The reason it would remind him of his rugers is like I said hes a huge ruger nut...his collection was up to 300+ rugers pistols and rifles. Sold them all for the wife n kiddies. I tried to persuade him to keep some for me when I get older but he sold them all at the tulsa,OK gun show. Which is anyone hasn't been there needs to go.. I miss it so badly.
I'm about 60 miles from springfield. I live near peoria. IF you don't have anything to shoot he 44 mag... maybe thats gods hint of saying what gun you need to buy next
Yea mentioned reloading to the wife and she said get a locked box to keep it all in and do what I want o_0 So maybe in the next year or two I'll start that trek.
Surprised you guys don't have a reloading separate forum or something.

Why, Doc... The only thing better'n a .44 is a rifle that shoots a .45! Thought you knew that?
Joe, it ain't any problem. Take yer bullet puller, pull the bullets, dump the powder and load those pesky .44 as .45s, Yer rifle won't mind!
Congrats bakamorgan. They're sure good lookin' and shootin' rifles. Can't wait to get the wood fittin' done on mine!
