Hi--I recently purchased brand new a Browning SA-22 (yeah I didn't get the Browning levergun, but's the SA-22 is an ancient design from 1914). The gun is amazing, accurate, fun to shoot--the only issue I have with it is that the stock that comes with it is way too shiny for hunting (I'd be hunting with my Mom's expensive high-end dining-room furniture).
I was wondering if you guys know of someone who could strip the high gloss finish off and apply something more woods/hunting friendly--or you may have a suggestion that I can do, I have some experience in re-finishing furniture. I deeply appreciate your input--I want to thank you all in advance... :)

Lightly buff the stock with 0000 steel wool.Ends up looking like oil finish.

Buff it w/OOOO steel wool - +3
The Japanese Browning SA's have an epoxy-type finish that doesn't easily strip w/o something like CitriStrip.

Yep. Bought a Browning '53 with their shiny epoxy finish and I used Jasco stripper. Very easy to use. I put on a TruOil finish and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.claybob86 wrote:Jasco Remover will get the original finish off.
