NEF Partner Pump shotgun

My friend has been looking for a 20 gage shotgun for his wife and daughters to use. We found the NEF Partner Pump for under $200. The store clerk claims that it is a Chinese version of the Remington 870, and that most parts will interchange. Has anyone had any experience with this gun? Good, bad, or whatever we'd like to know. I know what my political views are on Chinese products, and we are just looking for an objective review of the gun itself.

Been looking at them myself.

One thing I discovered while researching the Pardner Protector, is that Rem. barrels will not interchange; if your friend is planning on having multiple barrels for the piece he has to get them in a package when he buys the shotgun, as I don't believe NEF offers barrels for it, at least, not yet.

That would be a real enhancement to the platform, should they decide to offer additional barrels in the future.

Since the NEF guns come out of the same building as Remmies, this looks like yet another attempt to fill the entry level with a pump gun while keeping the Remmie brand a little more upscale. Where big green is sourcing them I don't know....

I have one, the home defense model. It is indeed a Chinese made 870 clone. Mine works fine, in fact I just shot it this morning and have no complaints.

Looks like a piece of garbage to me. But then again, that is about what I think of the 870 (newer ones anyway)

Always get what you pay for. Man would be better off buying a BPS if set on a pump.

If you check out the graybeards outdoor forums they have a whole section devoted to NEF shotguns of all kinds. This same question pops up there from time to time. Most everyone there is happy with their choice.
