Marlin 1894 44 Magnum

I can't remember if I've ever posted pictures of this lever action here before. I found it last summer, and the seller told me he bought it for his mother to use to keep the bears and such under control out at her fish camp on the Yukon River. It's a good shooter, and it has a nice smooth action.

That's a nice looking rifle. Have you had any opportunities to harvest any game with it?

Very nice !!! I've had the carbine version for over 35 years , still my favorite ( hence my user name ) 8)

They're argueably the best hunting levergun available for .44 Mag - I bought my 16" barreled 1894P .44 when they were 1sr issued (2001, IIRC).

There's no damage visible on the gun, so evidently his mother didn't sell it because it failed to stop a bear... :wink:
