Marlin 336ss does it again.(Warning Graphic)

Post by win38-55 »

Well my annual Michigan deer hunt is over. I got skunked. My buddy Cory on the other hand did not.
He shot this nice Michigan Buck with his Marlin 336ss 30-30 winchester. Deer came in broadside 20 Yds,
He put the crosshairs right on the heart and crushed this deer. Deer was dead right there zero tracking envolved.
He was very happy this was his first Buck with a gun. He had a great year. I cannot wait until next year already.
The wildest part of this entire hunt for me was when a pack of about 40 Coyotes showed up about 300 yds downrange
and I let one of them have it with a 170 grain Coreloc bullet. Fired out of another 336ss in 30-30. What an awesome year. :D :D :D :D

Yes that used to be a heart.

I didn't think .30-30's would kill deer, or that you could hit anything out past 50-60 yards with a levergun - are you sure one of you wasn't using a turn-bolt in one of them new ultra-short magnums...?

win38-55,

Sorry to hear you got skunked. Congrats to your buddy. That's a nice looking deer.

Too late piller, I already seen 'em. But since I've been told my opinions have no value and nobody cares about them, I'm gonna keep my thoughts to myself.

Sorry you didn't score, but it's great your buddy did. At least someone's bringing home the meat. A pack of 40 yotes? I don't think I've even heard of such a thing let alone seen something like that. Sounds like you needed to call in an airstrike and drop some serious HE on them dogs.

No use Joe. We can hear you "thinking". And having hung a couple of scopes on these things "just for testing loads" I have discovered how easy it is to get fond of how much they aid seeing things with these old aging eyeballs. No, I haven't replaced any peeps with a scope but I have sure replaced some open sights with scopes this past couple of years.

Real fine report there, win38-55. I like to look at the country you white tail hunters get to hunt in.

That deer prolly took a look a you two & died of fright. 30 WCF's bullets bounce off of toilet paper, just like the gun rags say. You guys just toted them smokepoles just for show.

Congrats...it was a successful hunt and a real good time.
