After his stunning photo's I had to get out with my 9422.
The photo is poor with night setting in but I just about managed to get these two in last thing before dark. The flash makes it look darker than it is!
Thats next weeks pie sorted
Roughly forty yards in woodland, not perfect shots but ok. Eley subs HP.
I blame both of these guys. I now know there is no fighting it. Expect a thread from me soon saying something like, "Just got my first lever action 22 it's a ....".
Hunting cotton-tails is one of my (if not the) favorite outdoor activites.
As a lad, I actually spent some time on a rabbit "farm" (Maybe it was a ranch. Can you 'ranch' rabbits? They don't really herd well) My grand-parents used to raise rabbits. Lots of them. Had cages all over the place. We didn't have to shoot them, though. Just had to climb into a cage, get close enough to grab one, and then whack it on the head with a stick.
That's good eatin'.
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
How popular are lever action guns in the UK? We tend to think of them as an American idiosyncrasy. I know there are a few individuals in other countries that use lever actions but I don't believe they were ever widely accepted.

We see a few lever action rimfires for hunting rabbits and squirrels but centerfire lever actions tend to be more often found in Cowboy Action Shooting.
Bolt actions are far more common for hunting and in "typical" British fashion you can be looked down upon for daring to use something not traditional but if you look hard enough there are some nice examples of lever actions to be found, pumps and semi autos are restricted to .22 rimfire only.
It's always cool to out shoot the bolt action brigade with a lever.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
