Ok Here’s the deal . I just picked up a nearly new Henry 22lr Golden Boy for my 11 year old daughter as a Xmas present. I have just mounted a Skinner brass peep to replace the buckhorn and it looks real nice (and a big tanks to Skinner for excellent service, with a delivery time of 10 days to Norway from placing the order )
To really finish the gun off, I would like to to change the barrel band to a brass one, but when I tried to order one from Henry’s I found that they will not deliver outside the US. They advised me to go through my local retailer and his distributer . The problem there is the the distributer is in Finland and I was quoted a delivery of 3 months minimum and a price of close to $100 for a $28 item .
So, the question is, do any of you folks know of anybody, retailer or private who could order and send me a Brass Barrel Band for the Golden Boy (part nos. SKU: GB1029G) I would of course pay all costs and an additional $25 dollars up front . The part costs $35 delivered in the US and it is about $10 for postage to Norway with USPS, so $70 in total.
Before you go to importing something, give your local plating companies a try. They might quote you a lower price for plating your current barrel band.

If your 'gun' laws are as ridiculous as ours, beware that 'importing a restricted firearm part' might somehow be what you'd be charged with, if you went to circumvent the issue. Not that you'd really be doing anything remotely immoral or dangerous or harmful, mind you, but in this country, the 'authorities' love to make examples of people doing no harm, and don't hesitate to 'inflate' the story a bit for an eager news media. Collections are seized and reputations ruined that way...
I agree with the 'plating' idea, or just order the part the 'slow' way, and make do with the blued one for a bit. I don't think your daughter will mind the blued one in the interim.
Perhaps you could even get the 'blued' one specially engraved in the process, with her name or something in gold-on-blue.
Another idea would be to contact Brownell's or MidwayUSA or one of the other international parts-brokers, that may sell directly to you.
