New Winchesters?
Anyone seen any reviews of the "new" Winchesters? Build quality? Fit and finish?
Just curious --

I have one of the new '92s, typical Miroku fit and finish, fantastic.chadbr wrote:Anyone seen any reviews of the "new" Winchesters? Build quality? Fit and finish?

Re: New Winchesters?
I've got a Miroku built '86 made before Winchester sold and it's a very quality piece. Fit, finish and quality is top shelf. They have the rebounding hammer and tang safety. The rebounding hammer sometimes gives light primer hits which doesn't light the fire. But, other than that they are a finely made.

Well built, finished wonderfully (if you like that type of finish), over-lawyered, over-priced, good guns.

The new Winchester 92s are not finished as the old Browning's were, no half inch thick polyurethane on them.

I shot a couple of levergun matches with some fellas that had each got one of the Cabela's 50th ann, 38-55's. Those were some superfine highquality rifles.
I have 3 winchesters that were assembled in the Miroku plant and they are just fine in fit finish and function.

Re: New Winchesters?
I've got an Moruku/Winchester 1892 Deluxe takedown with a 3 digit serial number in 44-40. Love it. Curved lever, octagon barrel and nice checkered wood. It has a rebound hammer and tang safety. I'm keeping the safety for unloading without putting a hole in the truck.
I think the gun shop here in Camp Verde,AZ still has a couple in 45.

I'm getting a wild hair... somehow thinking "one of each" sounds reasonable...
