My .44 Special

Post by Swampman »

I haven't done anything to this one except give it a trigger job. I got a great deal on it.

Very nice! You have very good taste! :P

Here's mine:

Same other than the rosewood Ruger store grips that I put on it. Found those issue grips to be a bit too abrasive - I was able to knock the tips off of the checkering on the wood ones and now it's comfortable to shoot for extended periods.

If you're looking for a nice but economical holster for yours - check out the Hunter line - that's what is shown in the pic. :)

I got El Paso Saddlery T3Ps for mine. They do grow on you, so much so that I got a .45 Colt...

Saw a verry nice SBH today in 44mag with 7 1/2 in barrel $399. Tempting but the Marlin 93/ 38-55 won. I will post more on that tomorrow.
Swampman, I take it U like Rugers. A couple nice looking Pistolos U have there. Do U have more ?

Nice lookin' .44 Special!

I have 3 just like it

I can't say enough good about 'em, they shoot just as good as I can hold them now that the ol' eyesight is starting to fade... :( But 7 1/2grs Unique and a 250 cast will still snip the head off a grouse :D

I'm partial to the factory grips. For some reason, maybe because I don't have huge hands, they just fit my mitt.

Nice shooter and nice job of photography too.

Now tell us about the knife.

The big knife is an Ecko that was made in Japan. The steel is awesome and it's been used for just about everything inclusing reshaping the stock of a Brown Bess Musket. The other one is just a cheap knife that is marked Winchester but it works ok. The scales are sheep horn.
