Post by samb »

Looks like I'm gonna miss the release up here, I hope it is playing the at home when I return. Looks like lots of Leverguns. I am not sure if it is being released south of the border. Here is a link http://www.themountie.ca/

I did a little digging looks like it will be release in the USA July 19th, in DVD.

GK I grew up where it was filmed, the still shot showing the rider from the rear is taken in the Carcross desert, I remember my grandparents buying me my first pair of cowboy boots, as a five year old and then driving out to this desert so I could " Try them out".

That's cool, I will have to visit Canada before I get too old to enjoy the Great Outdoors.

Westerns are the best type of movie, provided they are done well. I have seen a couple of bad ones, but very few.

I happened to mention the movie to my Daughter, she found it on Netflix.
the name has been changed for the U.S. market to "the way of the west".
watched it last night and thought it was a great western. so authentic, costumes,
guns, location, not your average John Wayne movie.

Well boys, I reckon that I could go for another Northwestern. After reading the three books by Richmond Hobson, they may be north but they sure are western folks.

Good to hear, because the 'reviews' on Netflix didn't give it good marks, but often the 'masses' want something flashy or trite, vs. just a realistic story presented authentically.

do a search on netflix for lionsgate films(canadian)
look for movies: (gunslinger doc west), (trigger man, doc west returns,)
both look good also. they produced "The Mountie" (the way of the west)
doc west is a professional gambler. previews of these were in the lead in ,on the way of the west disc. I am going to get them later next month (when I get to Arizona) and watch them.

I actually live in one of the few places in the USA where Canada is south of us. Looking out my window into Windsor, Ont. right now.
