I've seen the traditional trapper model, very nice rifle with a great finish and the wood fit very well. I saw it a show and the lever was zip tied so I didn't get to feel the action unfortunately. That stainless job would be just the ticket for nasty weather though.

That stainless one fitted with a carbine styled stock would be a beaut. I'd still like to see a 444 Marlin version like Chiappa announced earlier this year.

Just made an observation since my last post a minute or so ago.
Their writeup says "...matte finish, stainless steel half octagon barrel..."
Their specs list indicates "full octagon barrel" and "brushed nickle" finish.

Judge a person not for how they act, but for who you can help them become.

"A bit heavy"
@ 8-1/2 lbs .

- Gimme a break, will ya !
IMHO, the premise of a "Trapper" is short/light/handy.
My Grade II Winchester/Miroku Model 86EL weighed in @ 7lbs, with a 22" bbl & a Marbles tang peep sight.
A pound and a half doesn't sound like much - umtil the end of a long drag...........

I got to play with one at SHOT and it was beautiful. The action was very tight, but smooth. It think with a proper cleaning and working the action some it'd open right up. I can't remember about the barrel, but I think it was half-octagon.
