Two new take downs
Within the last couple months I bought these two lever rifles. 1894 38-55 supposed to be first year of production and sports an excellent bore. It has a lyman rear tang sight that is maybe a very early model cause it has a little lever on the left side that locks it in place, never seen one like that.
Second is a Mod 53 in 25-20 made about 1923 with a low four digit SN and the bore is as new. I have an old Marbles tang sight that is good shape that I may install in it.

Those are really neat. Nice find on both!! Love to hear range reports when you get the chance.

Will get out and shoot these soon and hope the 38-55 is as agreeable as my Legendary Frontiersman. I had to make an oversize H&I sizer die and buy a new Mold from Tom at Accurate molds to get what I figure to be the correct size bullet. It slugs at .382 in the origin of the rifling and a chamber cast suggests a .382 bullet with Starline brass should chamber, have my fingers crossed here. Below are some sizer dies I made in non standard sizes. The left one is a factory Lyman.

Because of Jealousy I am reluctant to say Nice Finds but "Nice Finds"
I have the 53 but the 94 in 38-55 is on My bucket list as well, so don't leave it laying around. lol
I will have one before the Year is out.

Re: Two new take downs
Thank's guys hope to have good shooting results to post. I got some bullets cast and sized @ .382 and made an M type expanding stem for my RCBS cowboy dies for the fatter bullet.
