My new model 88 pics.

Post by MikeS. »

Ok all ya picture lovers here's my M-88 and my new Ruger 3 screw 22lr / 22mag. These are my 1st .308 and my 1st single action. I had thought the M88 was a pre-64 but I was mistaken. It's still nice.

I went to the range today but stupid me left home w/o the .308 ammo. I was rushing to beat sundown. Oh well. The Ruger was pretty darn accurate although I'm still not in love with the feel of a SA in my big hands. The other revolver is a M-27 Smith.

Solid, practical weaponry. Good choices.

The single action grip design is so different from the double action revolver that it will feel strange until you get used to it.

Nice guns - Fed 150 shoots best in mine.

Sierra 180 grs with 43 grs IMR 4350 is a slow but really accurate load for the M88 in .308W.

Have one one too and love it! :)

Mike, Very good looking model 88 there. I've had good success with Winchester Supreme 168gr in mine. I think you'll find it as easy to carry as it is to look at. By the way, I too, seem to prefer the checkering of the post '64. I'd like another of either, but do like the impressed basketweave checkering.
