I purchased two complete rifles with the idea of rebuilding them into a 50-90 Sharps and the other a 38-55 Win.
A pair of twins if you like. The rifles alone landed here for 1050.00 for the pair. The barrels were close to 600.00 and the wood ,and buttplates were 585.00 (George at Treebone sent some awesome wood, you wait till you see the 38-55) So if you add up the price of the parts you can see that a finished rifle isn`t inexpensive.

Marlins are my first love, but a extremely close 2nd are my old Rem. single shot rifles! That's a nicely done Swede Roller, and should make a fine shooter.
Will it be casehardened once polished? I've had Al Springer at Snowy Mountain Refinishing do a couple for me, and his work/ prices are very good!
Something about a classic Roller's lines that just looks great!
Major kudos on the stock work. For a first attempt ya done super.
Honust injun I started to fit the Treebone wood to my #5 and had second thoughts. I wanted it "right" and was afraid Id end up less than happy with the results.
I sent it out to a friend who is master woodworker..... Yers is making me anxious to get mine back. Nice work!

Yes, and nobody does better blanks for a Roller than George. He loves Rolling Blocks, and has a huge variety of stock styles for them. Wish he'd never left Idaho though. Used to visit with him when he made the local shows here, but haven't seen him since he moved.

I am thinking to leave this one with a high polish and black trimmings(hammer trigger, block etc)
I do have a line on a pottery kiln so maybe in the future I`ll try the case hardening myself.
George at Treebone told me this wood is Bastonge Walnut, the pics don`t do it justice as the grain looks completely differant from another angle as the light hits it.
Very clean job, I like the looks of the receiver. Keep that patina.
