I got a hold of him (by email) two weeks ago regarding about my Marlin 336 356 conversion. He replied the next day saying it's just about finished, should be arriving beginning of August.

It's been talked about a few times here, some think it's a bad idea others not so bad it all depends on how you look at it. You can go to other forums and get the same results. As for the Marlin 307 conversion I've seen the topic pop up and just as fast it gets shot down.
