The Cossacks were big in the history of the Crimea and we saw a great deal of their influence on the trip.

Pretty neat stuff. Looks like a wide span of time, from edged weapons, matchlocks to a percussion pistol.

Cossack weaponry was more or less identical to or closely modeled on Turkish and Arab weapons and armor of the period.

The helmets are Arab, straight copy, most of the shields and match/flint weapons as well. I've studied medieval weaponry and armor from all countries and regions for many years and have hundreds if not thousands of pictures of extant examples from all over Europe's museums.
