OT, think your good ?

Post by azzhandler »

I considered myself a very good rider, until I watched this guy, I would not even attempt this on my roadking, but would love to try it on a city owned bike :D

That's pretty good. I'd love to go to an advanced scoot course sometime.

Years ago I thought I was that good. Some road rash and broken thumbs sorta changed my attitude. Why is it every time I go a getoff I break a thumb or two?

Now that's riding. It reminds me of a Staff Sergent that taught me how to drive the runway foaming truck. It was an old fuel tanker, with 18 forward gears, and when full you needed every one of them.

One of the things you had to do to get qualified was back thru some cones he setup, and they weren't in a straight line, and included backing around a "corner". Jake could whip that rig thru those cones as fast as that thing would go in reverse. I swear he had some sort of sixth sense, what with not having any true depth perception using just side mirrors.

I had a chance to use it to foam a runway once, but that's another story.

Besides precise timing, keeping up your speed is what matters. If you go slow enough, the scoot loses stability.

Any of you ever see the old victor mc laughlin motorcycle corps perform? I saw them at the last harley davison sponsored death valley run back in the late 60s. They would stand on the seat over uneven ground, arms out and handle the bike well. Somewhere I have a few pictures I need to put on the computer.
