A buddy bought a Glenfield 36G, well-used, in a pawn shop for $100. Supposedly, all of these had birch stocks, but this one has an absolutely spectacular piece of walnut on it that is, by all appearances, factory-original. If he weren't my best friend, I'd hate him...
That is a nice Revelation / Marlin. It seems to me that the store brand guns of the past were not considered discount guns as a rule and were made just like the manufacturers own guns.
I think stores like Fed Mart, K-Mart, Target, Walmart started this trend to have sore versions cheapened down.
At least that's what it looks like from here.
