Swamp People & Rimfire Silhouette

Post by Hobie »

Been watching these this afternoon while I "recovered" from setting targets at a silhouette match. Just needed to get off my feet and kick back.

I've been thinking about which rifle to use for rimfire silhouette. I think I'm going to use my Contender match barrel.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Topic went in a complete different direction than I expected. I also enjoy watching swamp people, but it totally irritates me how they start to take a shot with one gun and the next thing you know they are shooting a totally different gun.

They have shot some stock footage so that you get a gator's eye view and aren't savvy enough to KNOW that these folks actually might use a different gun. I saw one episode where they cut back and forth between a distant alligator and the hunter/fisherman was alternately holding a Marlin 336 and his Marlin .22 Magnum.

Hobie

Starting with one gun and finishing with another... Yeah Right! That's if they haven't forgot to bring the gun.. or have it loaded if they did bring one!!!.. LOL

We "tip" 3-4 kids, to set our targets. No need to sweat, get wet, or raise the heartbeat. :D The kids average $20-$30 each, with 15-25 shooters put funds into the "tip" can.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

yep.... I have noticed that many times....
city slicker editors...
They also need to pay a little closer attention to the size and weight of the gators..
screwed that up a time or two or three...

it's good exercise, and therapeutic.

Also if you notice, sometimes their boat has a yamaha motor and sometimes it may have a mercury on it. The only thing that is constant is the blue shirt that Troy wears. Me and my wife are going to meet Troy this coming friday evening in Shreveport, La. We love this show and Troy is our favorite.

Got to meet Troy last night and he is a pretty cool guy. He also talked to my daughter on the phone, who lives in Hawaii. Nice guy

I think that they try to make a big deal of how they aren't the "same" as the rest of us. Accent, home sometimes (such as with the Geist brothers hunting squirrels off the back porch), and so forth. Thing is, they just remind me of home, i.e. rural Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. Honest, hardworking, mostly religious folks with problems who enjoy the little victories in life and, mostly, seem to enjoy doing what they do. Troy and Liz are a good pairing! I've not seen a one I wouldn't invite into my house (based on the show) except I doubt my wife will let Bruce bring that dog inside!

I hope they are making some money off this.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I've kinda warmed up to this show lately. The different guns has us all trying to guess which one it will be when we watch it at our house. Good show.

I wish they would clean some of the rust off of those rifles.
