Thankyou all. Sorry I didn't get back with you yesterday as I was called in to work. Seems that getting set up for the junior livestock fairs is becoming a full time summer job in itself. I find it disgraceful :wink: that I haven't even had time for fishing or even shooting the current herd of winchesters in the closet.

The kids though are almost ready. We have been trimming, exercising, washing, etc. with some fine hogs, lambs, steers, dairy heifers, and even some chickens. No rabbits this year.

Thankyou all again and wish us luck for August, Morgan.

Happy Birthday, morgan in NM. All that work for the junior livestock fairs you mention, by chance would that be on behalf of the Chaves County Fair?

Its the Curry County Fair. Won't be heading to Roswell untill October for the Eastern New Mexico State Fair. Thats the last fair of the season and I have a few students that I hope I can convince to take their mechanics projects there.

I don't know for sure but I think the Chaves County Fair is a week after us.

Morgan - I served on the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Board for a couple of years in the mid 1970's. Those guys knew how to have wide open fun times even with all the hard work involved. Great times, great friends and many great memories. Most of those old boys are gone now. Roswell is worse off for the loss of those characters!
