New to me 39A Marlin straight grip "K" prefix
Picked it up last night. Condition in the 90% range, "K" prefix, stamped 39A on the barrel, skinnier than normal forearm, straight grip, 24" barrel with ballard rifling, and round lever. What is this? Not a Mountie, right? Hopefully, I will have some pics this evening. I know useless without them. Thanks, moodyholler

Not a Mountie? I'd like to see the photos. Congratulations.

Those are nice rifles. Sounds like she was born about 1953. 1886.

Congratulations!
You have the rarest of the "Mountie" variations. IIRC, there were less than 1,000 made.
1953 was the first year, for the Mountie, and 1953 was the only year it had a 24" barrel. 90% "K" Mountie's usually run in the $700-$1000 range.

I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Thanks for the replies. I will try and post pics this evening. I will probably move it on down the road as it is too nice to keep around my house. Thanks, moodyholler
