Speaking of songs does anybody remember a song by the title of "Coffee Colored People"? Don't know the artists but it was out late 69 or 70. Might have been a local group in the Phoenix area but I think it did go national for a short while.

First song up was Jim Croce, "I've Got a Name"... Now that brings back memories.

Joe,

On Youtube I found a song called Melting Pot by Blue Mink. There is a line in the song that goes "Turn out coffee colored people by the score."

This is a pretty good music site also, you can search and choose music and make your own playlist.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

OK, I've got that Melting Pot downloading, dial up you know. When it's done we'll see if it's the one I think I remember.
The lyrics do look it.

Well, stuff! I could not get this stupid box to fully download that song.
It stopped and started over at the beginning twice. But as best as I can remember, that's the song in my memory.
I didn't remember the band name and the last time I heard the lyrics was at our graduation rehearsal. A gal was reading them. Thanks for the link anyway.

I'm listening to 69 right now. 70 earlier. Oh these old songs make me want to go home. But ... the old saying that you can never go home again is so true.
Because home is not a where .... it's a when. And you can't go back in time.
