Preparation goes along way when painting I start by masking off every thing that I dont want paint on. I like the blue masking tape but any color works fine.

Also I rolled up some toilet paper as a plug for the muzzle. The first few bullets down the bore should blow out any paint over spray in the bore but why mess around right.

Once every thing was masked off It was time to clean the gun. I used rubbing alcohol soaked paper towel and wiped the entire gun this removes any dirt, gun oil, and hand oils that are on it so the paint will stick. (note: I wear latex gloves after I get it clean to keep hand oils off of it)
Now that the gun is clean it is time to lay every thing out.

For this paint job I only used 3 colors of Krylon Fusion cammo paint Tan, Brown, and green. The sponge I will be using to create the pattern I am trying out this time. But first you have to get the base color down I used the tan as my base. I gave it 2 coats to get good even coverage. I allowed 15 minuets between coats on each side so dont get in a hurry give it the 15 min.(note: If this is the first time you are painting the gun it may take more coats to get a good base)

Now down to the nitty gritty of making the pattern. For this I took the brown and the green. I sprayed each into some containers I made out of tin foil ( paper plates or bowls would work fine I just didn't have any on hand) and dipped the sponges into the paint and dabbed the paint on. ( I made a special stencil for this one

I kept alternating colors until I was happy. You can over do it with this pattern at the same time to little looks dumb but it really is personal taste in the end.

Here are some pics of my paint ball gear that I did over the summer.

I hope some of you found this useful. Now please don't do this to some thing nice like a Sharps.
