OT--Interesting footprint

Post by Pitchy »

I found these footprints in solid rock in Spearfish Canyon SD back in 82, there in a place that one could picture someone standing looking out across the valley below.

Opinions ?

Very cool 8)
Hard to tell, is it a left or right foot?
Even hard to tell how many toes.

Weird. Although one time when Griff was over here, I did see those prints near the toolbox, gunroom, and other areas where valuables are. :D

There is a left print to the left of the one you can see plainly, in person it shows up pretty good. Whatever stood there it was in mud a long time ago and turned to rock.

Got me, ya know it had to take a long time for a print in mud to turn to solid rock.
I`ve had some suggest that it was formed by water but i don`t think so, if you are there you can see the outlin of a left foot right beside it.
Not the other hole, ya can just make out an out-line in the picture.
Man, bear, big foot, who knows

Bigfoot is alive and well. I choose to believe just because it is more fun to do so.

Way cool. It does kinda look like there could be six toes in that picture. Also looks like there was some kind of additional pad behind the toes in the "ball of foot" area. Thanks for the pics. (I'm surprised Blaine hasn't posted an "arch" comment yet!)

My vote is ChupaCobra that decided to get out of the heat, and go see what the north country looked like!

I would think if they are foot prints that turned to stone, the valley may not have been there.

You've all been taken in. Pitchy forged him a hammer and a chisel and Michaelangeloed those footprints in the rock.

I don't think it turned from mud. You usually see that kind of thing in areas that are much more arid, where the mud has time to set between rains. Call me crazy, but I think some poor unsuspecting caveman was admiring an approaching storm when he was hit by lightning, thus branding his footprints into the rock.

Instead of a caveman, it could have been Cain...in the world's first public execution. :D

Being a God fearing man that would be my guess, Cain killed Able and God struck him down.
There`s probably a pillar of salt nearby too. wait, that would be somewhere on the west coast near San Fran.
