Slightly OT - Price Check on an E.A. Brown .32-20 Pistol

Post by Remington40x »

This is only slightly OT, as the pistol is operated by an underlever.

Local gun shop has an E. A. Brown single shot pistol in .32-20 topped with a BSA 2-3/4X scope in Weaver mounts. Condition is about 95%, only real flaw I saw was a small amount of freckling on the frame. Asking price is $299. I'm interested, but know nothing about these. What's a fair price for one used?

As an aside, they have two T/C Contenders, one .22 and one .22 Mag, each with a similar scope, for the same price.

Thanks.

Don't know about the EAB guns, I had one of the BF pistols (He sold to EAB)in 357mag. It shot well, just hated the cheap sights. EAB is still in business, IIRC, and makes a variant rifle, that isn't cheap. I heard he won't work on the BF guns, but since that one is an EAB , you should be OK.

Check out their website and see what the pistols go for nowadays, to see if it is a decent buy or not. I think that might be fairly cheap for one.

Current prices on the BF pistol -- Standard, $699; built-to-order, $999. I have a 97D rifle, built on the same action in 6.5 Bench Rest Magnum, that I dearly love. If I wanted a BF in .32-20, I would jump on it at that price.
