OT- ARGH!
First time going on hunting trip outside my island state, i'm packing and I KNOW i'm forgetting something! Off to Maui today for Nephew's wedding then on Saturday straight off to Texas. Do I need blaze orange? I don't have leather boots, just canvas, that'll work right? How cold a weather do I pack for? Do I bring a canteen? etc. etc. etc. What am I forgetting? Mild panic here.

If you are hunting on private property, which I believe you are, you don't need blaze orange, but can wear it if it makes you feel better.GANJIRO wrote:First time going on hunting trip outside my island state, i'm packing and I KNOW i'm forgetting something! The canvas boots you have are fine, as long as they are comfortable. Like I said before, I wouldn't worry about the snakes. Just keep your eyes and ears open.
The days might range into the 70's and the night might wander down into the 20's. If you're pig hunting, you'll probably be doing some night work. One word...LAYERS.
You can bring a canteen, or buy some bottled water when you get here. You can use the plastic bottle to pee in if you get stuck in a stand somewhere.
Other than that, whatever is usefull or makes you comforatble wherever else you hunt.
Have you purchased a Hunting License yet?
Pack your rifle. Don't forget ammo. Bring your camera. A credit card is useful.
What with this being America and all, there will probably be a WalMart somewhere nearby.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

You'll want for nothing if you show up empty handed and naked. No worries!
Kind regards,

Amen. And if some forget their manners, remind that all the BEST Texans came from Tennessee! As a friend of mine sez, the rest of us were handed a sovreign country and degraded it to Statehood! I'm not sure that's such a BAD thing... but some are a lil' touchy 'bout it!mescalero1 wrote:Texans are a good bunch, they will make fun of you; for everything you did not do right.
But in the end, you will not want for anything, and will tell your children what a fine bunch them Texans are
