Winchester Question???

Post by Hardtime_NC »

Did they ever chamber the 348 in a model 94? If not, were there any other models other than the 71's?

Thanks

Nope, the model 71 is the only one in a regular production gun. A few Model 70's were made in 348, but were only tool room jobs.-----------Sixgun

Thanks sixgun. I wonder if a custom job could be done on a 94 for the 348?

No on the '94 in 348. The receiver is too small. But..............I guess it depends on how much money you got, I mean, if they can put a 45-70 in a derringer........

In other words, even if it could be done it would'nt be worth it?

contacting a gunsmith years ago, he told me it was pretty much impossible. substitute the .356wcf for the .348; and the .450 marlin for the 45-70, and you can get pretty close.

You might look in to a newer 336 as a platform. 1886.
