End of days....

Post by RIHMFIRE »

I have been sitting here working on the computer with the TV on the background...
and the History channel has been playing shows about Armageddon...end of days
Certain theorists anticipate the end of life as we know it on December 21, 2012. These theorists believe that on December 21, 2012, the Earth will experience unprecedented, cataclysmic disasters ranging from massive earthquakes and tsunamis to nuclear reactor meltdowns. In order to prepare for these events, some proponents of the 2012 prophecy have already begun stocking up on survival supplies.....
But the have been many references to evil...Satan....and whenever it was refered
to....they show a picture of a white guy...This particular show in now showing a
picture of a guy that could have been in a southern rock band....but in a suit...
Yesterday it was a white guy dressed very conservatively.....but with the evil eyes
and grin....very PC ,.....dont ya think....
they say it will all end....in the epicenter of the world...Isreal...

But until then....TOP SHOT begins next week Feb 8th

Basicly I belive in it, its all in the bible, BUT the bible says no man will know the time and it will catch everybody unaware. When we moved here to utah 6 years ado warren jeffs, leader of the FLDS was on the run. He had told his flock the lord was comeing on such and such day and for everyone to go max out their credit! Somewhere there always is a date some kook predicted. When it dont happen some other kook comes up with another date.

Before the world ends; the entire state of California is going to slide into the Pacific Ocean!

No wait, that was supposed to happen in 1967, or was it 68?

Well wasn't it all supposed to end on 1/1/2000?

Remember all the prophesies of doom then -- planes falling from the sky, water and elctrical power plants failing, TV and radio stations signing off, etc.

Wasn’t Jim Jones preparing for the end of the world from a nuclear war?

Then from what I read, the year 1000 was also to be the "End All".

In my opinion, the only answer is that we don't know. But what is scary is that some pople don't know that they don't know but are looking for a way to make a buck from it and have a time -- however so brief --in the limelight from it....
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

If you read your Bible in the book of Acts the Apostles thought Jesus was coming back in their day. That's why they never left Jerusalem. Sittin around waitin on the end of the world to come.

A lot of the people waitin for it today base their fears on the end of the Mayan calender. It sounds lind of silly to me, like a book doesn't have an end?

Did anybody ever think that maybe the guy writing the calender just got bored with his job? Maybe it was time for him to retire? He was ready for his gold sundial.

As stated we don't know when the end of days will be. Plus, there's a number of things that are supposed to happen prior to the big event. As far as I know we haven't met those other things.

Since the 1st caveman crawled out from under a rock and watched the sun go down, Man has been predicting the end of the world. The end will definatley come when the Sun burns out, until then, have fun.

I believe this all comes from the idea that the myan calendar ends on that date, personily I think they just got tired of writing down days in a future they knew thay would never see.

However I did watch a show the other day about this, they said there was some Myan prophecies about it, but that the calendar and the prophecies where all intended for the Myans and the way they lived at the time, so I guess I don't know but I do know I ain't runnin up my Credit cards.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Nothing ever ends, it just changes.

The fact that a few self-aware microbes on a ball of mud floating through space don't like the change doesn't mean a thing.

There is no 'end'.

That's the punch line.

There's got to be something in it for the guy predicting the end of the world. My brother used to belong to one of these prophetic churches and their "leader" predicted the end in '68, then in '72 and on and on. Well that sorry so-and-so self appointed prophet lived pretty well on the tithes of his members. Unfortunately for him he is no longer among the living (guess his world ended). Booger Bill has it right "no man will know the day or the hour". Live your life the best you can with honor and integrety and treat people as you would be treated.

Why bother worrying about it? When each of us croak its the end for us (here) and in the big picture that aint far off, anywhere from right now to about 60 years for the very youngest here.

The Mayan calendar was chiseled on a large circular stone disk. It stops on 21 Dec 2012 because they simply "filled the sheet of paper."

Christ said that only The Father knows the time of Christ's return. No worries....every day is a gift from the Lord. Believe in Him and do His work while there is still light to see, and keep moving until they start shoveling dirt over you. Simple.

For those who believe that there is nothing beyond this, please begin by considering the mathematical odds that you live in a relative paradise on a large rock hurtling through space at incredibly high speed, which is protected by the perfect amount of atmosphere to keep you from getting pummeled to death by space rocks and lets the perfect amount of radiation in to allow life, yet not enough to poison you, which has a moon the perfect distance away to create the correct gravity and tides which allows life to happen and thrive, the perfect distance from the sun to allow life to exist, in the perfect iron bearing belt of the solar system which is required for life to even begin in the first place....etc, etc, etc...... Have you ever considered that the moon, even though millions of miles from the sun, is a perfect lid that fits over the sun during an eclipse? It's a custom fit! Add that into the odds, which stack one upon the other until it becomes statistically impossible that all of this could have come together by chance. It's the Lord's version of a swiss watch....perfectly organized for His creation. And there you have my .04.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Sounds like an excuse to sell survival supplies. Remember Y2K - not my son, but all the hype about the world falling apart on January 1, 2000, because the computers couldn't handle the date. A bunch of malarky.

Thanks for letting us know about the new season of Top Shot starting in a couple weeks. Was wondering when it would start! :D
