Best gun shows for levers in Oregon?

Post by pharmseller »

Not that I expect to find a deal at a gun show, but what/when are the best shows in Oregon for levers? Who knows, I might find that B-92 357.

Thanks,
Quinn

I wish for both of us that I could answer that, Quinn.

Over here in Redmond, it is hit-or-miss on Levers. Sometimes there is an adequate number to drool over; other times, Yikes! The last show I attended in the summer had enough to feel satisfied that there was a representative amount. But the show six(?) months prior to that, maybe three rifles--disappointment!

No matter how many they have here, the price tags have taught me that I'm not a buyer when I show up. I read once in a while that at a show, a member has found a dream rifle for well under real value--I have stopped entertaining that notion. The vendors at our show know their products--I don't blame them for trying to make a living.

I've been to just one show in Portland, the big one up near the Columbia. Huge show! The fun of it was more in experiencing it with my oldest son, rather than fondling levers. He is interested in those Black Things, and there were plenty of those to view. For the size of that show, leverguns were lacking in number (but aren't they always!)

I haven't attended others, so my opinion is not of substance.

I have always had good luck at the Albany shows, but the Rickreal show is my favorite. I have found some good deals at both, but probably more at Albany. The last Albany show about 4 weeks ago, I picked up a flat band 30-30 for CHEAP. There were some reasonable prices there, but the flat band was too good a deal to pass.
A couple of years ago I went to a show in Roseburg that was outstanding. I know it was in February, and I have been trying to find out if it is going on this year. It was worth the drive for me.

Rickreal is great, but you should come to our big, 2-day, Oregon Arms Collectors show, in August. It's like a mini Reno show from the old days....no black rifle stuff or new production firearm dealers. TONS OF LEVERS! Marlinman93 and I both work the show and he sets up an outstanding display every year.
