OT - Philippines 2011 - Now with Pics !

Well arrived Manila as planned the second time . Spent the night there and got to CDO around 5PM wednesday which would be 5AM Virginia time !

What was supposed to be about a 30 hour trip to 4 1/2 DAYS !

GOOD LUCK in the P.I. I will bet the week will be spent on "Jet Lag" recovery. Don't forget to ask the wife about a great Aso Cadereta dinner.

Actually having all those over night layovers has me in pretty good shape today sleep wise !

My first night in CDO I had about an 8 hour undisturbed sleep !

Sorry about the delay with the pics as I've been here almost 5 days now !

But internet connection in my hotel has not been the best and it's pain to try and do pics from an internet cafe .

So here goes !

We took our daughter to a Japanese Resteraunt tuesday for lunch !
It was her first experience with Sushimi and Sushi , she wasn't impressed LOL's !





Wednesday we took our youngest sis to a local Thai Resteraunt , the food was good I might add !

Wednesday night we took our daughter and her boyfriend to a Korean Resteraunt !

So we had Korean Barbecue (beef , chcicken and squid) . Also got a bottle of Jinro Soju for my daughters BF to try !

Well tonight will be the annual going away dinner for me at my Fiancee's parents home . I don't like this dinner as it seems to bother me more each trip when I am about to leave !

It does help since the last two trips my Fiancee travels to manila with me and see's me off from the airport there !
This year we will stay overnight in Manila as we both have early morning flights!

Me to Tokyo and then New York and her back to Cagayan de Oro .

Went out to dinner last night at "Bigby's" as it's our daughters favourite resteraunt !







We took our younger sis and nephew Danielle along as well !



Before we went to Bigby's we were in the lobby of the hotel !

While I can't deny I miss the USA after being in the Philippines for awhile , but I truely miss my family there in the Philippines the minute I board the plane to leave Manila !

Well we left Cagayan de Oro City today via Cebu Pacific Airlines and all went according to plans !

Here we are a different sort of Chinese Resteraunt in Manila proper !

It was kinda like a Korean Resteraunt where you cook for yourself .



Our pretty niece Mariz is in the middle !
Although I knew who she was thru pics this was the first time she and I actually met !
Very nice , sweet and polite young lady who just so happens to be a RN now !

Now here's something I fin d kinda PROFOUND !

If I'm not mistaken "Krispy Kream Donuts" started in either Richmond VA or somewhere in North Carolina many years ago . And I travel half way around the world to eat Krispy Kream donuts as an after dinner snack !

Well now it's on to Narita at 8AM friday and see what Delta can screw up on the way home !

Think I'll get to Naia early like 5AM and get my boarding passes for Manla , Narita and JFK !

Hope ya got in all safe and sound like. I 'scaped from VA today... was soggy toward evening along the I95 corridor. Great pics and looks to have been a great time! I'd love an excuse (and the funds) to go back to Olongopo City... ahhhh, to be youthful again... wait... that didn't sound right!

Got to the airport at 5AM friday morning 3 hours before my flight and I think all the other passengers had the same idea as me only 5 minutes earlier then I did !

Took me 2 and a half hours to get boarding passes , go thru immigration/customs and final security !

Flight from Manila to Narita was nice !

We had a quick meal and I slept the rest of the way !

Narita terminal was fine , only made us get off the plane go thru security and then reboard in 2 hours !

Flight from Narita to JFK was uneventfull but VERY LONG ! I did get to see the movie about "Secretariat" while on that flight !

Once in JFK baggae claim , immigration and customs were a snap ! Once outta customs Delta had a small place setup to take my check bag and I was on to final security ! 2 1/2 hour wait and on to Dullus ! Slept that entire flight also ! Don't even remmember the takeoff !

I'm glad to be home safe and sound but I already miss my wife/fiance and daughter very much !
