Rossi's Marlin clones

Post by junkwrencher »

If Rossi has the 336/1895 design or something like it, how long until they get ahold of the 1894 design and start turning out clones of that fine rifle? Is this possible?

Dunno, but I have a whole LIST of cartridges I'd like to see them chamber them in...!

Better yet, how about designing some take-down models capable of shooting several different rounds (even if you also had to swap out some internals too, it would be worth it).

I'd rather see them do the 1886 in .45-70 but everyone wants to mount a scope these days so side ejecting designs make more sense.

Olyinaz, they're already chambering 45-70, I'm wondering if they're going to use the 1894 Marlin design and produce pistol cartridge guns using this design.

I can't see the point of that because they already produce the '92 version which has a stronger action.

Do you have a link? I don't see that on their web site.

Here's the link I'm refering to, notice in the writing at the bottom of the page. http://www.rossiusa.com/2011newcatalog/?catalog_page=8 In response to COsteve's question why? To take Marlin's share of the 1894 market. A working man's gun for a working mans price. The same reason I bought the Rossi over the Japanese Winchester.
