New Year's Breakfast --2011 --- OT

Post by Streetstar »

Had the laptop open on the breakfast table reading last night's threads ---

suddenly thinking about what a great breakfast i was having and hoping you guys had similar results

The neighbor brought me a pretty big batch of fresh eggs from his henhouse a few days ago so

breakfast consisted of 2 pan fried eggs (fried with Pam, gotta watch the fat a little bit) dusted with a touch of cayenne pepper and sea salt to add a bit of zip to the morning

Followed by a small serving of my wife's chuck roast she cooked in a few night's ago along with half a potato

I know, I know, a couple of eggs and some leftover roast doesn't sound too wild --- but it fits the macronutrient profile i need to follow to a tee, plus -- and most importantly, it reminds of good neighbor's and my wife's newfound committment to trying to cook. Sometimes she'll miss the mark, but after 8 years of not trying at all -- i'm glad she's starting to try

Later guys --- if the weather cooperates , i hope to be shooting cans off the back porch with the little Henry .22 later today , so that would actually give the day a levergun tie in  2011 -- BRING IT ON ! :o

Sounds like a great breakfast to me. The wife and I have been battling colds so we're moving kind of slow this morning. Didn't even ring in the new year. I did cook a 23 lb. turkey yesterday. When we get up and really moving around I'm going to cook some eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. That'll be our new year's breakfast/brunch.

Happy New Year, nothing better than fresh eggs for breakfast. Hope you have fun shooting today. I just realized I haven't bought any leverguns this year :P . Hope to change that real soon.

I have been giving turkey bacon a try (65% less fat). Yesterday I cooked some real bacon "crisp to perfection" and lemme tell you......turkey bacon is for turkeys! I guess it's better for you, but it can't hold a candle to the real thing for taste.

After all the food from New's Years Eve family gathering, it was hard to want anything for breakfast......but I forced myself :) Had a vinison cubed steak biscuit with onion and mushroom gravy and everal cups of coffee. The cubed vinison was left over from a previous supper and makes a great steak biscuit.

Two soft boiled eggs mashed together with some sweet relish and a freshly chopped jalapeno, add a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper, thrown in together with a small squirt of French's mustard and smathered over two slices of Orowheat whole wheat toast, with some Starbuck's Breakfast Blend coffee. Great New Year's fare.

Happy New Year, all!

Fresh eggs for the chickens ( I'm only getting 2 a day right now) and nice crispy hash browns. There is nothing better than a left over piece of meat fried up for breakfast with your eggs. When I do go out for Saturday night Prime rIb , I always get the king cut so I have some left over to fry up for breakfast.
