That pretty well sums it up.

Lots of pics of the XS here - http://www.levergunscommunity.com/viewt ... =1&t=23531, including installation quirks.
Note the short and long action Marlins require different models of the XS mount.
MidwayUSA.com is where I got mine, I think.

The XS scout mount is a super mount, I have one on my 357 carbine and love it!

A big +1. I've thought about selling my .357 on occasion but each time I take it out of the safe I'm reminded how fun it is with that set up...centershot wrote:The XS scout mount is a super mount, I have one on my 357 carbine and love it!

I have one on my .450 Marlin and on a 336 / .35 Remington. Really love the scout rifle set up.
I didn't epoxy mine on. Lots of rounds through both w/o a problem.

I've had a XS mount, Leupold QRWs and a Leupold Scout Scope. It's been off and on the rifle many times, and has not needed adjusting since I first sighted it in.

XS mounts take a lot of abuse and work great.
