What date range for a Win 94 with the first threee digits

Post by kaferhaus »

first three digits are 481xxxx

couldn't get the guy to give me the whole serial number over the phone.

appears to be in good shape according to the cell phone quality pics....LOL

What I'm trying to figure out is if it has one of the receivers that are prone to flaking of the finish...

it's a 16" trapper

By 1979 Winchester has solved most of the flaking issues. I have two 1979 mdl 94s. One I refinished with a colorcased hardened receiver, the other still has its factory finish. No problems.

If you're buying this over the internet, I'd request better pics than a cell phone takes.

No the guy is about 60 miles away so personal inspection will be done.
