Colt
Uberti
Pietta
Freedom Arms
Ruger

These all come to mind right off the bat. There's probably more.

The Beretta SAs were also made by Uberti whom they own. That's why I didn't mention them.

I just came across "Cimmaron", too. They're pretty - are they O.K.?

Probably one of the best importers of Uberti SAs.

Cimarron is made by Uberti for it's importer.
Don't forget AWA, I've owned several of these and liked them very much. One of the best made I've ever owned was a Hammerli. Armi San Marco was another Italian maker. Great Western was around years ago, still sold by EMF as the Great Western II but made in Italy. I know I've missed a few.

The current "Great Western IIs" are made by Pietta.

USFA # 1 in quality except for maybe Freedom Arms. My Colts would be next, followed by Ruger and Uberti. Just my experience and opinion. I have all the above except Freedom Arms. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

Griff,
I think I've seen the STI Texan mentioned twice before, and haven't heard of anyone making a report that actually has one.
They do sound interesting though.

If the Tauruses are gone then good riddance but as for the Uberti made Berettas, they still have a web page over at Beretta USA and they're still in stock for sale at my local gun shops.

the one report i read on the STI texican said it was the best fitted and most accurate SAA type the reviewer had ever tried.
i just wish they would make it also in an adjustable sight 'new frontier' configuration, then i would have to get one.

Freedom Arms!!! I can't bear hearing that word lately. I've been wanting a single action revolver for a while. A 4 1/2" .45. I was all set to get a Ruger untill someone here started a thread on Freedom Arms single actions. That ruined me. I really, really want one but will have to raise the funds. I almost stopped by their factory in Wyoming when I went hunting but I would have obsessed over it on the entire trip. They are a work of art.
Well, can't go wrong with a Ruger. Maybe I'll get one in .45 and one in .357.

jk - I will be resurrecting that thread for Lincoln's birthday which is about when I can take delivery of that 4 3/4" 45 FA. Where are you located?

Out in Riverside. I really like admiring those F.A. revolvers. Looking forward to your post when you get yours.

Well, if you are out in this area some time maybe we could find an opportunity to shoot it. After seeing the STI Texican I think will make that the top of my list for next year.
