I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
These are my favorites. What are yours?
Nothing is quite as cool as a pair of COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTERS with ivory grips, (the bottom one has real ivory). Of course they need a Winchester SRC to go along with them. This one's a 25-35.

I'm getting old. In my old age I find I long for the guns of my youth.
Revolvers and 1911's were the handguns of my youth.
I know them and I trust them.

Re: I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
My absolute favorite revolver. Ain't pretty, and the only "custom" feature is the front sight and grips. But it will out shoot any othe handgun I own, and it's over 70 years old. S&W knew how to make them back then.

RIHMFIRE,
I've always thought it was a Boy Scout lapel pin inletted into the stock. Your question caused me to look up the Boy Scout emblems and they have the eagle head turned the other way. So now, after 50 years of owning this old Winchester, I don't know what it is. It was just there when I got it.
Any one here know what it is?

I can't get a good look at it from the photo, but it looks pretty close to the Great Seal of the United States.M. M. Wright wrote:RIHMFIRE,

M.M.,
I will agree with you on the SA Colts. As John Taffin says, "Nothing stirs the soul quite like a Colt".
At the moment, times are hard and its all I have to show, but......it is a Winchester! -------- Sixgun
This was my favorite shotgun while growing up.
This is in the freezer. Its tonight's dinner

Re: I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
Thanks, Griff, that's the Browning 53 in 32-20 I picked up some time back. I hate the Browning epoxy finish so I removed it and put on a Tru-Oil one. The other side of the buttstock shows some huge cracks that were hidden by the epoxy. Oh, well, it's sure some pretty wood. And, it's a shooter, as all my guns are so I don't wash my hands before fondling it. I do try and keep my guns wiped down though, for corrosive fingerprints.

Re: I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
"Ya know something Law Dawg, Thats an excellent idea on that nasty shiney epoxy finish. That gun now looks like a "real gun". I never did like the shine that Brownings have on their wood. Now, if you pop off the lever, hammer, and forend tip-----strip the finish and "antique" it, it will be real nice. ---------Sixgunkimwcook wrote:Thanks, Griff, that's the Browning 53 in 32-20 I picked up some time back. Those ole rifles and such that are antiqued now, which you and a number of guys here have, didn't start out that way. This ones got a long way to go as do most of mine. Now, if let's say my Winoku '86 bothers you because it looks too new, I'll trade you it for one of your original '86's in 45-70. Straight across, I won't even ask for anything to boot. And, I'll take a post 1900 so it can be a smokeless rated one and not a collectible pre 1900.

The people curently in charge of our government don't trust us with cartridge guns of any kind. They just haven't figured out whether an all-out ban would precipitate another "shot heard round the World." When they decide that they can get away with it... I suspect even C&Bs will be "verboten in allen Zuständen."

Re: I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
Sorry for the crappy picture. The 92 is a 1903 vintage SRC in 38-40. The Colt is an early teens .45. Repro grips but tight as a bank vault.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
