I seem to of put a few pounds on so decided to park two miles away from a wood I have not visited for two years. Tracking fox's in the fresh snow was very interesting and the wheather allthough cold was good.
When I got to the said wood I started calling first ensuring I was in the down wind end of the 10acre+ lot. Calling every five minutes and within half an hour I see him coming. At forty yards and him behind some brash I get the rifle pointing his way, he stops, he could hear my clothes! He comes a little more, experience tells me he will go for a gap in the trees to check me out and he does. A 30yds shot as soon as he stops in the gap. Job done.

I shot a fox years ago in this spot with a Savage 24 in 22Hornet and 12g once!
A mature fox in his prime and will never grow old, now in bunny and pheasant heaven.
I could of taken this fox with anything, my smooth rifle, 9422 or shotgun. I must do an outing with the 9422 soon.
