ARRRGHHHH!!!!!!!! Leveritis Strikes!

Post by Old Ironsights »

Going shooting this am with the Glock to get ready for semi-annual requals (always one in the cold & wind...) so I stopped by the ammo shack for ammo.

Bad idea.

I now have a stainless 1895 (20", no porting) on layaway for $500 I shouldn' spend... (there goes my Comp-Time payout... :| )

Dangit dangit dangit...

At least you had the lay-a-way option. Everybody needs at least one 45-70.

Back in '90 I had a Blue Guide Gun in AK and shot the heck out of it... until I got my Casull. Liked it a lot, but had flash-rust issues.

Always wanted a Stainless, but didn't like the porting and wasn't willing to part with the $$$. But $500 for a gun with honest wear and no ports was hard to pass up.

... Just checked with Marlin.

It's an 18.5"... and normally retails for $750+. (best Online I can find is over $600 after shipping/FFL)

If it weren't for this hole in my hand I'd be really happy. :?

Just be glad the hangfire wasn't with the .45-70...!

Or for that matter, that you had the .22 LR adapter in the gun you were using.

PM sent, by the way...

I know how you feel.

There are two situations where I have absolutely no impulse control.

Chocolate cake and guns.

I have recently become the proud owner of several stripped AR-15 lowers.

Aint it a curse! I came home with an M96 Carl Gustafs Swedish Mauser the other day that I had ZERO intention of scouting for at this time. All numbers matching and a beautiful bore for $189? What am I am - superhuman??!!

Enjoy it when you get it!

Best,
Oly

Oh yeah. Sometime I think JJ just keeps a copy of my checkbook laying around "just in case".

And whatever you do, don't drop by for Lunch (1130ish to 1300ish) on Saturdays. The last two lunches have ended up with me throwing large sums of money at them...
