Check this ad from a store a flat band with a plated/stainless receiver, I've never heard of this before.

It is almost certainly a plated or highly polished bare metal receiver. A hands on inspection would reveal the truth in seconds. Winchester did experiment with stainless steel barrels, not with stainless steel actions.

i'd bet dollars to doughnuts, she did not leave the factory like that.
had one once that had the receiver bumper chromed, again not from the factory. :wink:
